Dell Launches XPS 15 & XPS 17 2020, Designed Specifically for Creators

Known as a pioneer of laptops that have a bezelless screen design, Dell has just updated their best laptop variant, XPS with new design and improved performance. If the XPS 13 series first had a new design, it is now an XPS 15 turn and a new addition variant, the most high-performance XPS 17. The screen is larger, but with a smaller bezel than the previous generation.

Both of the latest Dell XPS series are targeted to creators, both video content, photography and more. Even in variants with certain hardware configurations, Dell embeds the name “Creator Edition” to indicate that their device is indeed capable of such purposes.

The Dell XPS 15 (2020) was the first update after five years of unchanging design. Naturally, because from five years ago, the design already looks very modern and even still equivalent when compared with the current premium laptops. Now with the new InfinityEdge design, not only the slim left, right and top bezels, but also the lower side. Plus its thinner profile, the device is more portable than the previous version.

The Dell XPS 15 (2020) display uses the aspect ratio of 16:10, with the highest resolution 4K and the color profile 100% Adobe RGB. As for the hardware specifications, there are RAM up to 32GB options as well as storage of PCIe SSD manifold up to 1TB. For port completeness, there are two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a USB-C 3.1 with Power Delivery support, an SD card slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Dell provides an adapter for USB-A and HDMI in a sales package.

Being a 2020 release laptop, the Dell XPS 15 has certainly used the latest 10th generation processor from Intel, with options up to Intel Core i7-10750H which has a 6-Core CPU count. Plus the NVIDIA GTX 1650Ti Max-Q graphics option, the device is very suitable for professional creators.

For creators who want maximum performance, Dell sets up the XPS 17 series. Reportedly, the last variant with a 17-inch screen dimension was released over a decade ago. Although large, with the InfinityEdge design, the XPS 17 dimensions are the equivalent of a conventional 15-inch laptop, or a 16-inch MacBook Pro. The screen with its 4K panel also has support for HDR 400 certification.

With a physical dimension greater than XPS 15, the Dell XPS 17 features a better cooling system, use a vapor chamber and two cooling fans. RAM options and storage are also higher, each up to 64GB & 2TB. As well as a choice of processors up to the Intel Core I9-10885H 8-core, its GPU option is also much better than the XPS 15, the NVIDIA RTX 2060 GPU with 6GB GDDR6 RAM.
