A while ago, HONOR announced its seriousness to not only release smartphones, but rather a complete ecosystem where all devices could connect. HONOR shows some devices such as home appliances, new routers, tablets and one of them a laptop, HONOR MagicBook Pro. Yes, if Huawei has a series of MateBook Pro, HONOR also has equivalent equivalents to qualified specifications.
And just like Huawei’s own devices, HONOR has also released MagicBook Pro from 2019 then. Only this time it was given some essential improvements such as the use of a new processor from Intel. These laptops are often referred to as competitors of the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The reason has similar design, as well as identical screen dimensions.
The 2020 edition of HONOR MagicBook Pro has a display with a dimension of 16.1 inches. But the overall dimensions are not too large, thanks to a 4, 9mm bezel thickness, resulting in a body to screen ratio of up to 90%. The screen is 1080p resolution, with 100% sRGB support for accurate color reproduction.
The keyboard section also looks identical to the MacBook, including the laying of speakers on the left and right sides. The fingerprint Sensor is embedded in the right speaker, becoming one as the power button for the practicality factor. While the 1MP webcam is hidden on the top keyboard keys.
When not in use, the camera will be closed, giving a deeper sense of security. However the position is slightly unusual and makes the user appear with a slightly too lower angle. HONOR also embeds two microphones on MagicBook Pro for clearer video calls. This slim Laptop with Windows 10 uses aluminum body material with a thickness of only 16, 9mm and a weight of 1, 7kg.
Although thin and lightweight for the 16-inch laptop size, HONOR MagicBook Pro uses a 10th generation Intel processor. There are two variants to choose from, the Core i5-10210U & i7-10510U, with 16GB of RAM DDR4 as well as 512GB SSD. In addition to having a dedicated graphics chip, there is an NVIDIA MX350 2GB DDR5 external GPU for gaming capabilities as well as more complex graphics.
To keep the performance awake and the temperature cool, HONOR uses two cooling fans at the bottom of MagicBook Pro. On the side, there is a combo of 3.5 mm audio jack, one USB-C port, three USB-A 3.0 ports and an HDMI port. The Laptop has a 56Wh battery, claimed to be able to use up to 14 hours (or play video 11.5 hours).
